All Settled In
In 2004, a young Karan and his family moved to the United States with one goal in mind: achieve the American Dream. The very next year, they settled in Natomas to begin their new lives in the land of opportunity and have been there ever since.
As the years passed, Karan would meet his wife—and by 2020, the married couple was looking to buy a home with enough space to accommodate Karan’s parents as well. At the time, they were all crowded into 2,000 square feet of home and needed more space with five bedrooms—and so their search for their forever home began.
Unfortunately, the pandemic housing market meant scarce inventory, so the family decided to tour a Lennar community in Woodland, outside of Natomas. While it wasn’t the location they wanted, it had the home quality they were seeking.
“New homes have always been on my radar for the same reason I prefer new cars—less maintenance, more reliability and great quality,” Karan explained.
That’s when the Lennar sales agent mentioned that a new home community in North Natomas was coming soon. They were excited about the idea of staying closer to their network of family and friends. Karan signed up for interest list emails right away. By December 2020, they were on the VIP list after getting pre-qualified for Northlake.
When their number finally came up, they were ready to buy. Model homes hadn’t been built at the time, but that didn’t deter them. The couple purchased Bleau, Plan 3046 based on photographs alone, with the double benefit of locking in the best value. And of course, they selected a spacious five-bedroom, three-bathroom home with plenty of room for everyone.
“I loved that with Lennar homes, everything that comes included is standard. Quartz was only a small upcharge. I appreciated that there weren’t any hidden fees, as it made it easy to stay under budget,” Karan continued.
The whole family knows they got in at just the right time—a secret they’ve shared with others who have been inspired to join the community.
After Karan’s nudge, his best friend, who lived next door to them in their old house, became a first-time homebuyer at Northlake. Then, Karan’s in-laws purchased a home at Northlake too, moving down from Seattle to put down new roots. Finally, Karan’s sister is on the waiting list to buy soon, making Northlake truly a family affair.
These days, Karan and his wife enjoy walking around the neighborhood lake, taking in the beauty of what’s already there and what’s to come, they’re living the life they always imagined. They aren’t just pursuing the American Dream anymore—they’ve caught it.
